Overview
CASEWELL.LAW ("the firm," "we," "us") is a law firm located in South Jordan, Utah. We operate this website as a public marketing presence. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through the site, how we use and share it, how long we keep it, and the choices available to you. It does not govern information exchanged after a written engagement, which is addressed in the firm's engagement agreement.
Information We Collect
When you use the contact form on this site, we collect the information you choose to provide, which may include:
- Your name and email address;
- Your phone number, if you provide one;
- The contents of your message; and
- Whether you opted in to receive text messages, together with the date and time of that opt-in.
The firm's web host may also automatically log standard technical request metadata — such as IP address, request path, timestamp, and browser user-agent — for security and operational purposes. The firm does not run third-party advertising or analytics trackers on this site.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information you submit to respond to your inquiry, to evaluate a potential matter, and — if you have opted in — to send text messages related to your inquiry, your case, appointment reminders, and firm updates. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for third-party marketing.
How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. We may share the information you submit only in these limited circumstances:
- Service providers. With vendors that operate the firm's systems on our behalf, and only to the extent needed to perform those services — for example, our website host and contact-form processor (Netlify) and our telephone and text-messaging provider (Zoom). These providers are permitted to use the information only to provide services to the firm.
- Legal requirements. When we reasonably believe disclosure is required by law, court order, or valid legal process, or is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of the firm, our clients, or others.
Text Messaging (SMS/MMS)
Text messaging is entirely optional. If you check the SMS-consent box on the contact form, you agree to receive text messages from CASEWELL.LAW at the number you provide. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP, and you can reply HELP for help. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of any purchase or of legal representation.
Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes.
Data Retention
We retain the personal information you submit through this site for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy and as required by applicable law and the firm's professional-responsibility and record-retention obligations under the Utah Rules of Professional Conduct. When information is no longer needed for those purposes, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures designed to protect the information submitted through this site. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send confidential or time-sensitive information through the contact form until a written engagement is in place.
Your Choices
You can decline to provide information through the contact form; some fields are simply required for us to respond. If you have opted in to text messages, you can opt out at any time by replying STOP. To request access to, correction of, or deletion of the information you submitted through this site, email office [at] casewell [dot] law. We will respond consistent with applicable law and the firm's professional obligations.
Children's Privacy
This website is intended for adults and for use in connection with the firm's legal services. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information through this site, please contact us so we can delete it.
Governing Law
This Privacy Policy and any dispute relating to it are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Venue and jurisdiction for any such dispute lie exclusively in the state courts located in Utah County, Utah.
